South African Embassy at the National Cathedral Flower Mart annual outdoor festival 2008

Flower Mart 2008 is Washington DC's annual Springtime Festival.  The 69^th annual benefit for the gardens, grounds and woodlands of Washington National Cathedral is sponsored by All Hallows Guild.

Since 1954 one of Washington’s Embassies has been requested to participate as the “theme country”. The 2008 event celebrates the Centennial of the National Cathedral and the Embassy of South Africa gladly accepted the role as Honorary Chair for Flower Mart 2008!  

The Flower Mart encircles Washington National Cathedral with its tents and includes more than 50 booths offering gardening items, handbags, jewelry, and more. Food vendors will be stationed throughout the grounds with fare including Asian specialties, pizza, BBQ, Cajun cuisine, lobster rolls, Italian sausage, fried mushrooms and artichoke hearts.
