Purpose: The purpose of the Administration Division within the Embassy is to support the Ambassador, all line function officers and other levels of staff with financial and logistical services, in order for them to carry out their responsibilities effectively, efficiently and in the most economical way which are consistent with the Public Finance Management Act and the Treasury Regulations. The Administration Division is also responsible for rendering consular services to South African citizens in distress who are traveling abroad and other consular services to clients from the United States of America.

The Office serves as hub for agricultural representation in the United States of America, Canada, Mexico and Cuba it also looks at South African agricultural interest in the rest of the Americas. It provides the strength and determination to consolidate the partnership for poverty eradication, accelerated growth and wealth creation.

Purpose: The Defence Office of the South African Embassy represents the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) in the USA and is responsible for retaining a sound relationship with the US Military and coordinating activities on a day-to-day basis between the SANDF and the US Military. The SA-US Bilateral Cooperation Forum (BCF) includes as one of its ten committees the SA-US defence Committee (DEFCOM), which was established on 29 July 1997. The SA-US DEFCOM is one of the more active committees and is used as a means to facilitate cooperation on defence issues.
