Ambassador Sisulu Says Goodbye!

The Embassy of South Africa hosted a reception for Ambassador Sheila Sisulu this past Sunday, 19 January 2003, in honor of her departure for a new position as director of the United Nation's World Food Programme based in Rome, Italy. 

The Ambassador was joined by her friends and staff who all used this opportunity to take the time to say some heartfelt thanks and best wishes to any extraordinary Ambassador and woman.  Although the evening was marked by festivities and celebration, these emotions were bittersweet amongst both the guests and the Ambassador as it is always difficult to say goodbye to ones friends.  Ambassador Sisulu thanked everyone for coming and for their kind words and expressed her enthusiasm for the challenges that await her in her new position.  Please see photos below.
